Message from the President
August, 2007
Dear Newcomer,
Hello and welcome to Oakville!
As a new resident you are invited to join the Oakville Newcomers' Club. We are a non-profit, volunteer organization, formed for the benefit of women and families who have moved to Oakville within the last 2 years.
Why join? It is a great way to get to know other new people in Oakville, and together, you can find out the best places to eat, shop and enjoy your leisure time. We meet as a group on a monthly basis, and offer interest groups that cater to everyone including: Mums and Tots; Culinary Journeys; Fitness Walking; Drama Theatre Night; Book Club; Gardening and Pub Night, amongst others. As a member, you could start your own interest group. Our monthly electronic newsletter provides the details of our activities.
If you are interested in joining the Oakville Newcomers' Club please visit us at our monthly social, or contact Jill Hand at 905 847-6974, or email jhand72@sympatico.ca. The cost to join is $35 per year.
The social is held the second Tuesday of every month at 7.30 p.m. at the Burloak Canoe Club, 160 Water Street, starting on September 11, 2007. Our last meeting will be on May 13th, 2008. At the monthly social you can find out more about the many interest groups, talk to new friends, and enjoy the program planned for the evening.
We look forward to seeing you at our next social.
Sincerely,
Julie Lentern
President
